After each print, it is essential to pass the excess unpolymerized resin that may remain in the vat through a filter to eliminate any small fragments of resin that may have polymerized. This process is of vital importance to ensure that the next print has resin completely free of solid fragments. The presence of any solid residue in the resin could interfere with the capture of the light needed for its polymerization, resulting in imprecise prints. Depending on the location of the dried residue, it could even cause the print to detach from its support, leading to a complete loss of the work done.
The filter, made of paper and completely harmless, ensures highly effective filtration. Once used, the filter will become saturated with resin remnants and should be discarded. It is recommended to use a new filter for each print.
Additionally, it is advisable to store the used and filtered resin in a separate container from the unused new resin container to prevent any contamination that could affect the quality of the new resin.
